Presentation

In 2018, the ACBLPE (Associação de Crioulos de Base Lexical Portuguesa e Espanhola) Annual Conference will be held in Ziguinchor (Sénégal) in early summer.

The Association of Portuguese- and Spanish-Lexified Creoles (Associação de Crioulos de Base Lexical Portuguesa e Espanhola – ACBLPE) is a scientific and cultural association which aims to:

  • promote and develop the study of the Portuguese- and Spanish-lexified Creole languages;
  • provide its members with opportunities for debate and collaboration;
  • produce reports and make suggestions and critiques on issues related to education and research.

One of the main activities of ACBLPE (Association of Portuguese and Spanish-Lexified Creoles) is the organisation of annual scientific meetings. It is the association’s policy to try and alternate the location of these meetings between the Iberian Peninsula and other parts of the world.

UFR of Letters, Arts and Human Sciences of University Assane Seck of Ziguinchor (Sénégal) will host the conference in collaboration with Llacan (Unité mixte de recherche "Langages, langues et cultures d'Afrique noire" - CNRSINALCO - Villejuif, FRANCE) and Sedyl (Unité mixte de recherche "Structure et Dynamique des Langues"- UMR8202 CNRS, UMR135 IRD- Villejuif, FRANCE).
